Port-en-Bessin And Le Marché Aux Poissons

Gambar
Clams and sea snails and delicious, tender  salicornes . Sign for the locally made fish soup. I love his face! Low tide. It's étrille season, a tiny local crab that tastes like lobster. They were busy filling bag after bag with the live crabs for customers. Port-en-Bessin is famous for its scallops , and there is evidence of that everywhere. Local oysters from Asnelles-sur-Mer .

We looked at renting an apartment on a charming little rue in the 5th, with a view of this . Which would have been amazing, had it not been for the rowdy British pub across the street. We're still looking.

Words. And The Lack Of Them.

Seems that I haven't had much to say lately. Numerous, half-finished blog posts are waiting patiently for me to find some inspiration and write. Until then, photos and few words.

Paris Nights

Gambar
When the weather is this gorgeous, there's only one thing to do... go outside . So I've been joining the crowds of warm weather picnickers and have been spending many of my Paris evenings down by the riverside. Laughter filled, quayside  apéros,  sometimes with Champagne, always with cheese. Watching the light change from lavender and pink to gold, then to deep midnight blue. Stopping to listen to the lone saxophone player while he serenades the the people walking across a bridge. The streetlights and moonlight reflected on the water. Grabbing my camera and taking inspiration from a photographer friend. The Eiffel Tower sparkling on the hour. Being  une flâneuse.
